I try to patiently not put too much pressure on my students since I feel like often learning piano can be frustrating enough. It definitely is a long term game that takes a number of years to develop and so I try to encourage my students to get over that “hump” when it's hard to see the progress in themselves.

I try to patiently not put too much pressure on my students since I feel like often learning piano can be frustrating enough. It definitely is a long term game that takes a number of years to develop and so I try to encourage my students to get over that “hump” when it's hard to see the progress in themselves.
I have taught over 100 students from age 5 to over 50, online & in-person since 2015 long before online teaching was common. Though I only teach online now, I still have 2 students I have taught for those 10 years. (One started in first grade and is now in high school doing an amazing job, and even learning music theory, improvisation and how to compose).
I have my own custom method books that I have developed myself that helps students learn from a very structured and progressive way. I am also an award winning composer that can help students learn to improvise or even compose for those interested. In addition to winning Two national Student Emmys while at Brigham Young University, I have recorded my music with some of the best players in Hollywood at Capital Studios and Budapest, Hungary. I recently created “Hollywood Christmas” album on my YouTube where I composed, conducted, and produced the whole album myself. So for those who are interested, I like to also teach other skills like music theory and recognizing things better by ear. At BYU I used to play piano for Ballet classes and Modern Dance classes where I would either sight-read a full binder of music, or learned to play by ear, improvising on the spot continuously. I can also help students learn to SIGHTREAD better since it was a skill I couldn’t do at all but received some help and now can sight-read very well for anyone such as singers, choirs or the like.
