My name is Benjamin, and I am a student studying economics at Brigham Young University. When I took the ACT as a sophomore in high school, I scored a 36 and decided to start teaching family and friends how to improve their own scores through my own small business. Four years and over fifty satisfied students later, I am still teaching and still loving it.

Additionally, I earned the position of national finalist in the National Merit Scholar Program after I scored a 1510 on the PSAT. I have a variety of test-taking and test-preparation experience, and most of my work has come with high-school age students. However, I have also spent significant time working with ages 10-15, primarily on math and reading comprehension.

My approach centers on principles of repetition and confidence- I believe that too often students are taught only until they can get something once and then forced to move on. When I teach, we take the time to make sure that something is mastered and able to be reproduced in a variety of settings before moving on. Even then, the concepts are carefully tracked and revisited later. This leads to both an increase in student performance and an increase in student satisfaction- it is fun to really learn new skills and information and be able to use it. This sensation of discovery is why I love teaching- let me help you or your student find that- and also a shiny new test score along the way.
