I am currently a PhD-track student in behavioral neuroscience with a background in neurobiology and a master’s degree in neuroscience. Over the past five years, I have worked as both a tutor and teaching assistant, helping students across high school and early college STEM courses. A large portion of my recent work has focused on the digital SAT, where I have logged several hundred hours of tutoring and developed a clear understanding of the test’s structure, recurring question types, and the strategies students need to perform well.

My approach to tutoring is built on clarity, efficiency, and pattern recognition. I do not want students to memorize steps they cannot reproduce under pressure. I want them to understand how to think through problems in a way that holds up on test day. That is especially important for the SAT, where strong performance depends not only on content knowledge, but also on decision-making, pacing, and recognizing what a question is really asking. I usually begin by identifying where a student is losing points, then use targeted practice with SAT-style questions and full-length exams to strengthen those areas.

I have worked with students at many different levels, from those who need to build core understanding to those pushing for top scores. My goal in each session is to make difficult material more straightforward and to give students tools they can use on their own. Whether I am tutoring SAT math, AP Biology, or general STEM coursework, I focus on helping students move from confusion to confidence as efficiently as possible.

My qualifications for GRE tutoring include a strong graduate-level academic background in neuroscience and cognitive science, along with extensive experience teaching standardized test strategy, reading comprehension, analytical reasoning, and quantitative problem-solving. I also scored in approximately the 98th percentile on the GRE’s verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing sections, which gives me a strong understanding of both the content itself and the strategic patterns that separate good scores from truly elite performance. In addition, I have worked successfully with dozens of students preparing for a wide range of graduate and professional programs, including MBA programs, speech-language pathology programs, law school, and other academically competitive pathways. Because of my research and graduate training background, I work especially well with students aiming for high scores where consistency, efficiency, and higher-level reasoning become more important than rote memorization alone.

Amazing and knowledgable GRE tutor

I highly recommend Zach if you need help with the GRE (or really anything involving math/verbal skills). I worked with him for a few weeks after getting my original GRE score of 160V/155Q, and he was able to help get my score up to a 165V/169Q, which was my exact goal score! Zach was immensely helpful for both the verbal and quant sections and great at explaining topics in different ways when I didn't get it right away.
