Hi, I’m Soon—a bilingual Korean–English tutor and long-time community translator. I specialize in helping busy adults and motivated teens build confident, practical Korean for real life: work meetings, travel, church/community settings, and family conversations. My professional background is in product management in HR tech, so I’m very results-oriented and comfortable tailoring lessons to concrete goals and timelines.
My approach is structured but friendly. In the first session, we set a clear goal (for example, “hold a five-minute self-introduction,” “run a short meeting,” or “survive a week in Seoul”). We start with Hangul from day one, keep romanization to a minimum, and build pronunciation using simple mouth-shape cues and light IPA. Grammar is taught in context with sentence frames you can reuse immediately. You’ll get short, targeted homework, spaced-repetition flashcards, and quick speaking drills you can do between meetings. Materials can include everyday dialogues, business scenarios, and culturally authentic clips—always matched to your level.
I’ve worked with adults and teens in one-on-one and small-group settings, including newcomers, heritage speakers polishing accuracy, and professionals preparing for presentations. As a volunteer Korean↔English translator, I’m experienced at making meaning clear on both sides of the language and culture. Expect patient coaching, clear feedback, and steady progress you can feel week to week.
If you’re ready to learn efficiently and enjoy the process, I’d love to help. Book a first lesson, and we’ll build a plan that fits your schedule—whether that’s one 60-minute session a week or two focused 30-minute sprints.
