About Cody

Bio

I completed my undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University - Idaho in July of 2017. I majored in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Programming. While I studied, I found a side job, to help cover the expenses of tuition, in tutoring engineering courses. I quickly developed a love for teaching students about a subject I was so passionate for. I enjoy seeing the success of another because these people weren't just my students, they quickly became my friends.

I currently work with the United States Air Force as a Mechanical Engineer. Among the projects I get to work on, I have missed the connection that comes with being a tutor. I am eager to work with each student to ensure they achieve the goals they set, then lift them to go farther.

Math is a key skill used in my career. I have studied and mastered math through Calculus 3. This range includes linear algebra, trigonometry, precalculus and more. I am competent in calculation softwares including Wolfram Mathematica and Microsoft Excel. If you need help with virtually any math, I'm your guy.

I am a mechanical engineering graduate. I excelled in my classes, not just with high grades, but also, I understood the material very well. My expertise ranges from basic math to complex fluid mechanics problems.

I work full time as a Mechanical Engineer. I mention that to show that I am not offering my services for monetary reasons. Teaching/tutoring is a passion of mine because it give me greater purpose to be the means of others success. My number one purpose of any tutoring session will be to help you achieve the goals that are important to you.

  • Rate details: I charge for the full first hour regardless of how long we go (ie 15 mins = 1 hour charge). Then I charge to the nearest 5 mins.

I have been playing baseball since I was 3 or 4 years old. I played baseball during high school as a pitcher and Centerfielder. My career aspirations took me away from playing at higher levels. However, I still play on competitive league softball teams where I play, usually, at shortstop.

I scored in the 80th percentile when I recently took the GRE. This score has helped me to be accepted to multiple MBA and MS Engineering programs. I am confident in my ability to teach you how to navigate the tricks of the GRE to help you earn a better score.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. This required many complex complications, which I solved via Mathematica. I learned many facets of this complicated tool. It has now become second nature to me.

I have just recently taken a professional training course on Solidworks as part of my job on the Air Force Base. I have designed hundreds of items for educational, professional, and personal use.

During my time in college, I took 3 courses specifically for Trigonometry. In addition to these courses, I used Trig in virtually every other course in one way or another to solve complex engineering solutions. This high level of understanding paired with my people skills, allows for me to teach simple and effective while you gain understanding of the topic.

Cody jumped into action, on short notice, to prepare for HS Freshman Algebra test review with my son. My son was apprehensive and reluctant to get tutoring before the lesson - and after the lesson was almost giddy with a sense of accomplishment. Couldn't have asked for a better first lesson!
