I am a certified elementary teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I currently teach 5th grade and previously taught 3rd grade, which has given me experience working with a wide range of elementary learners and academic abilities. Over the years, I have taught math, reading, writing, and study skills in both whole-classroom and small-group settings, while also providing individualized support to students who need extra encouragement or intervention. My experience includes helping students strengthen academic confidence, improve organization and executive functioning skills, and prepare for classroom assessments and testing.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized to each student’s needs. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and comfortable asking questions, so I focus on creating a positive learning environment where mistakes are part of growth. I break down concepts into manageable steps, use visuals and real-world examples to increase understanding, and adapt my approach based on how each child learns best. I especially enjoy helping students who may feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or behind begin to feel capable and successful again.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience working with students one-on-one and in small intervention groups to target specific learning gaps and build skills over time. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them gain confidence in themselves as learners.
