Hi, I’m Luke! I hold a dual Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Utah, along with a minor in Computer Science. I’m a CRLA Level 3 certified tutor with several years of experience teaching and tutoring students across a wide range of levels—from middle school math to advanced undergraduate and graduate coursework like linear algebra and differential equations.

I’ve worked as a tutor in the University of Utah Math Center and Learning Center, and as a Learning Assistant in physics courses, where I helped students develop strong problem-solving skills in one-on-one through guided questioning and conceptual understanding. I also served as a Peace Corps education volunteer, teaching mathematics full-time to large classes and adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs. These experiences have made me highly effective at quickly identifying where a student is struggling and targeting those gaps with clear, personalized instruction.

My teaching philosophy is simple: meet students exactly where they are, then build their understanding step-by-step. I don’t just aim to help you solve a problem—I want you to understand why the solution works. Students I work with not only improve their grades efficiently, but often gain a deeper appreciation (and even enjoyment) for math and physics along the way.
