I have a Post-Graduate degree in Geographic Information Science (GIS) from Montclair State University, along with a B.S. in Sustainability Science with environmental science coursework in hydrology, geomorphology, soil science, environmental law, and geochemistry. My GIS studies focused on spatial analysis, remote sensing, and environmental applications. I have my ESRI ArcGIS Pro Associate Technical Certification as well as completing ESRI training courses in cartography, imagery, and spatial analysis.
I’ve been helping people learn GIS for several years in both academic and professional settings. I worked as a Graduate Assistant and GIS Lab Assistant at Montclair State, where I helped students understand concepts, troubleshoot projects, and get comfortable using ArcGIS. More recently, I’ve trained professionals while working with the USDA Forest Service, where I created training materials and led webinars on GIS and remote sensing workflows.
I’ve worked with a range of students, from college beginners to working professionals trying to improve their GIS skills. Most of my teaching has been one-on-one or in small groups, along with some larger virtual trainings. I’m comfortable helping with everything from the basics to more advanced topics like spatial analysis, LiDAR, and workflow automation.
I try to meet people where they’re at and adjust my approach depending on their goals, whether that’s passing a class, finishing a project, or building skills for a job.
