I have been a public school teacher for 18 years teaching k-12 special education, with the bulk of my experience teaching in the secondary setting. I am highly qualified to teach math k-11, and I have my ESL endorsement. I have a Bachelors degree in special education from Utah State University, a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Utah, and a Masters degree in teaching and learning from Argosy University.
My specialties are teaching diverse or struggling learners in math and reading. I have been certified to teach the SONDAY reading system and various other reading intervention programs. I have taught or co-taught math anywhere from 1st grade to 11th grade. I am a firm believer in tailoring my teaching to fit a students needs. I can help with homework or specific skill gaps that a student may have from previous years. I am friendly and believe in creating positive environment and practice positive behavioral supports with all my students. I am great at building rapport with students and parents and really want your kids to achieve and progress. I am not a stuffy math teacher, and I like to have fun and try to make learning fun. I tutored for Canyons School district for three years helping kids get their GED or with completing packets to meet graduation requirements.
