I tutor middle school, high school, and college level courses. I am comfortable up to 5000 level courses in math and most statistics up to this level. For higher level college courses, I charge higher rates because I spend time reviewing the material to make sure your session isn't filled with me reviewing--we can focus on helping you learn.

I graduated from Utah State University with a master's in mathematics. I also have a minor in Statistics from my undergrad degree and my thesis was on effects that contribute to student success in developmental math courses. I began working at a treatment center for youth immediately after in 2015, where I still work today. I am licensed as a teacher in the state of Utah, but my work at this school is primarily one-on-one in small individualized learning experiences (tutoring). Although I primarily teach in math, I also help with a variety of other subjects, including physics and chemistry.

I have more than 17 years of experience being a tutor. With my current job, I have had 10 years of full time tutoring/teaching with students and curriculum development.

For my tutoring sessions, I like to review what was taught in the class, address student's understanding of what was taught, and reteach as I feel is necessary for the student to comprehend. From there, I then help them work through the problems at their pace.

If you are a USU student, I'd be happy to meet you on campus after 5pm (when free parking is open) as long as you reserve one of the rooms.

Wonderful and Well-Rounded Tutor

Trying to find the right fit for your child's needs when it came to finding a personal tutor seemed daunting to me. Thanks heavens we came upon Jason. Our daughter's needs were in the area of both math and science. In today's classroom there is little time for personal attention to help a student understand concepts and if understanding is not established one falls behind very quickly. Jason was wonderful... he was available and flexible with his schedule, his explanations were understandable to her of material that our daughter found confusing in the classroom. He was patient and never condescending when teaching. He also made her think. This was key because it gave our daughter confidence to answer and ask further questions. So often kids are afraid to ask because they fear being viewed as 'dumb'. I credit Jason for helping our daughter better understand her classes material and have confidence when in the classroom. Her grades thrived which made her a happy high schooler. We had Jason as a tutor for 2 years and could not give a stronger recommendation than ---- most excellent. Thank you, Jason.

5-star tutor

Jason was extremely helpful to me this semester, and he is really good at calibrating his teaching to my knowledge level. There were some topics where I sort of already knew what was going on, so he just explained simple concepts and fundamentals where for other, more challenging topics, Jason really went in-depth with the formulas and ideas behind why the equations work.
