STEM Tutor — Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, and STEM Writing

I am a Biological Engineering student and active research assistant with hands-on experience in laboratory and data-driven projects. My research allows me to bridge the concepts I teach—biology, chemistry, and calculus—to real-world applications, helping students see how STEM topics connect beyond the classroom. I am currently maintaining a 3.75 GPA and draw on my own experiences in rigorous STEM coursework to support students in mastering challenging subjects.

My teaching philosophy focuses on personalizing lessons to meet each student’s needs and interests, prioritizing understanding concepts deeply rather than just knowing how to approach problems, and accepting input from both students and parents to tailor sessions effectively. Every student begins with a complimentary 15-minute orientation so I can learn their goals and challenges, and together we can create a customized plan that works best for them. After the orientation, I will create a lesson plan for the student that includes a topic of their interest to relate the content to, an in-depth lesson for the content, and review problems for the student and I to go over together. In my sessions, I focus on making material approachable, fostering confidence, and applying real-world examples whenever possible.

I am responsive and communicative, and I aim to provide clear guidance while empowering students to become independent learners. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build long-lasting understanding and problem-solving skills that will benefit them in future coursework and beyond.
