Hello! My name is Luke, and I'm an instructor of ecology and programming. I've dedicated my academic and professional life to studying these subjects to reduce the negative impacts of society on the natural world. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Wildlife Biology, and I'm currently a PhD candidate studying moose ecology and their interactions with humans in Alaska. My research focuses on human-wildlife conflict and animal movement behavior, which has strengthened my understanding of the natural world and left me with a surprising amount of programming experience in both python and R.
In addition to researching ecology and biology, I've been instructing it for several years now. Early in my graduate school career, I provided one-on-one tutoring for biology to both high school and undergraduate students. For the past two years, I've been teaching introductory biology labs for freshmen at Utah State University. During this time, I've helped students understand key concepts in biology and develop their lab skills. I'm also familiar with the challenges that students face when studying biology, and I'm confident that I can help you overcome them.
For the past year, I've also been instructing a Python GIS course for graduate students. This has allowed me further develop my skills in programming and data analysis, which I can use to help you with any programming-related challenges you may encounter.
