I am a PhD mathematician and former university instructor with extensive experience teaching and tutoring college-level mathematics, including Calculus I, Calculus II, College Algebra, and Brief Calculus. I taught at Arizona State University and worked in the ASU Math Tutoring Center, helping students succeed across many courses, including many international students.

I specialize in helping students clearly understand difficult concepts and improve their performance on exams. My tutoring focuses on step-by-step explanations, identifying where confusion begins, and building strong fundamentals so students can solve problems independently and with confidence. Many students come to me feeling stuck or overwhelmed, and we work together to make the material clear and manageable. I offer focused exam preparation sessions as well as ongoing weekly support, helping students stay on track, and make consistent progress. I also provide support beyond sessions by creating customized practice materials—and sometimes interactive computer-based tools—so students can continue improving between lessons.

I have extensive experience teaching/tutoring college algebra, precalculus, differential calculus, integral calculus, applied calculus (aka business calculus, calculus for life sciences, or survey of calculus), math modeling, quantitative reasoning, intro to statistics, and data analysis with Excel and SAS. I help students understand topics like implicit differentiation, the chain rule, and real-world applications with clear examples.

I work with AP Calculus AB/BC students and welcome IB Math AA and AI students, including those needing help with the IB Math IA (Internal Assessment) and their mathematical exploration. I have significant experience working with international students and understand the challenges of learning in a second language.

If you are looking for a clear, patient, and highly experienced online math tutor for Calculus, Algebra, IB math, or advanced math courses, I would be glad to work with you.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I am a PhD mathematician and former university instructor with extensive experience teaching and tutoring advanced math. I earned a perfect score on the ACT Math section and help students improve both their math skills and test performance through clear, step-by-step instruction. I focus on the concepts and patterns that appear most often on the ACT, including the more challenging multi-step questions, so students can work more quickly and confidently. I offer both focused exam prep and ongoing weekly support leading up to test dates.
Calculus

Calculus

I am a PhD mathematician and former university instructor with extensive experience teaching and tutoring college-level calculus, including Calculus I, Calculus II, and Brief Calculus. I help students understand key topics such as limits, derivatives, integrals, and applications through clear, step-by-step explanations that build confidence and independence. I work with students preparing for exams, including AP Calculus AB/BC, and welcome IB Math students who need support with calculus concepts. I also create customized practice materials to help students continue improving between sessions.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I have also worked in the life sciences performing research and analyzing data. I have taught statistical methods to many college students, and have published research papers in several fields. Data analysis is a skill I enjoy teaching to others, from identifying outliers and biases to presenting graphs and figures that clearly illustrate the main results.

The best tutor ever!

I really struggled with calculus this quarter, and lessons with Clint made a huge difference. He is patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to walk me through everything I needed, quickly spot where I was struggling, and explain concepts in a way that I truly understood. He went above and beyond after our lessons to make documents breaking down concepts for me that we reviewed, so I could look back and have help on my side when I practiced by myself. I can't recommend Clint enough, he's the only tutor I've had that I look forward to learning with. He's the best!
