I am a PhD mathematician and former university instructor with many years of experience teaching and tutoring college-level mathematics. I taught mathematics at Arizona State University, including the courses College Algebra, Brief Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, and also served as a tutor in the ASU Math Tutoring Center, supporting students across a wide range of undergraduate math courses.

I have extensive experience teaching Brief Calculus (Survey of Calculus at some universities), designed for students in business, social, and life sciences. I focused on helping students understand not only how to carry out calculations like the chain rule and implicit differentiation, but also how derivatives and integrals are used in real-world applications. I also have extensive experience teaching and tutoring College Algebra, differential calculus, and integral calculus for engineering and hard science majors, where I emphasize getting the basics right so that students can avoid recurring mistakes and feel more confident as topics become more advanced.

My tutoring approach is straightforward and student-centered. I watch how a student works through problems, identify where confusion or breakdowns begin, and help clarify that specific step so the rest of the solution makes sense. This approach helps students become more independent problem-solvers rather than relying on memorized procedures.

In addition to my teaching at Arizona State University, I created and taught a course at the University of Utah that included topics in statistics and biostatistics. I primarily work with college students and adult learners, but I am also happy to work with motivated high school students online. If you are looking for clear, patient, and structured help with college-level mathematics, I would be happy to work with you.
