Hello! My name is Tony, and I spent two years living in South Korea before returning back to Utah to study at college. During my time in Korea, I immersed myself in the Korean language and culture, using Korean daily in conversation, teaching, and service. I've not only developed a deep love and understanding of the Korean culture, values, and society which influence the use of its language, but also conversational fluency in the language. Now, I plan to minor in Korean as I study at college and continue to grow in my comprehension of the language.
I understand how challenging learning a new language can be, but I am also well aware of just how rewarding it can feel and the connections with others that can be made through the experience! I want to help others feel confident about their progress and assist them in learning how to learn a foreign language. I can point them to helpful resources, help them refine their study habits, and explain Korean grammatical concepts and nuances.
I possess experience explaining those grammatical concepts to friends who were also learning the language, and I also possess a great deal of volunteer experience teaching English in Korean to Koreans, who ranged from 9 to 90 years old, in-person and online, and in individual and small group settings.
