About Russell

Bio

I am multi-instrumental bluegrass/folk musician. I teach fiddle (American, Irish and Hardingfele), guitar, mandolin and banjo to students of all ages. For beginners, I focus on creating early wins, so every lesson has measurable and immediate results. Beginning guitar and mandolin students will leave their first lesson having learned a complete tune. For advanced students, I focus on style, tone and even improvisational skills.

I have been teaching for 20+ years and performing for much longer than that. I have had the opportunity to perform in many parts of the world and throughout much of the United States, sharing the beauty of folk music. I graduated from Brigham Young University and have a minor and an associates degree in music. I continue to perform frequently and also produce recorded music and live stage shows.

Online lessons are one-on-one and focus on building your confidence as a musician. We set goals together and work to achieve them, while staying centered on the things that make music most enjoyable for you.

I look forward to meeting you and discussing how we can work together to achieve your musical goals!

I have owned and operated Industrial Dream Labs, a 3D design, animation and digital marketing studio, for the past 10 years. I previously worked for multiple notable design agencies and have taught many young students during that time through the Wulfenstein School in both individual and group classes. I have a passion for teaching students these valuable industry skills. Clients include major national and international brands. My emphasis is in creating compelling product artwork and animated videos. I have also designed product lines including posable action figures. Blender is my go-to tool and I use it daily and have trained employees and interns to use it efficiently as well for production visualization, character design and 3D printing. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and helping them bridge the gap from hobbyist to professional. I graduated with a B.S. in Marketing from Brigham Young University and later went on to work full-time at the agencies, Eli Kirk and Truss prior to launching my own 3D design agency. I have served clients across the United States and throughout Europe.
