Hi! I've spent 20 years as a high school chemistry teacher & tutor, teaching AP Chemistry and Chemistry. My tutees appreciate my calm, easy demeanor and how I help work the problems while building confidence. What I love about tutoring is that it gives me the opportunity to work one on one with a student, to get to know your learning style, and to help you see how you can do the work. I love it when kids find their footing in the subject matter. I'm happy to work through problems with students and find ways to remember the concepts so that you find the material relatable. I will work with new students to prepare for a test, finish homework, or to complete a project, and many of my tutees return regularly. My goal with every student is that you leave the session feeling more confident about the content discussed and feeling that the time was well spent.

My journey as a chemistry tutor began in my first year of college when I helped my classmates in Organic Chemistry. My sophomore year, the college hired me as an Organic Chemistry Lab TA. During college I interned in the labs at UCSF medical center purifying mRNA and at Sandia National Labs working on a methodology for identifying microscopic bomb residue. Following college, I became a teacher at a large public high school and taught AP Chemistry my first year there. Even though we were a large comprehensive high school our pass rates rose and rose, surpassing even the magnet school in the district some years. Meanwhile, to pay my bills, I tutored Chemistry students from different schools in the evenings.

Since 2020, I've been tutoring over Zoom full time with students all over the country. I really enjoy it. If you are looking for chemistry help, please contact me. I will do my best to help you get where you want to be.
