Bio

I graduated from Utah State University in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. I am currently a licensed middle school math teacher teaching 8th and 9th grade Honors. I've held this position for 3 years, but I will move to high school physics in a couple of years. I have plenty of experience tutoring in both math and physics. While at USU I privately tutored over a dozen fellow students in both subjects. I was hired by the USU Physics Department to work in their tutor lab, and I taught there for 6 months.

I have been tutoring people in math for the past 6 years, finding business through word-of-mouth or by posting flyers on college apartment doors. In doing so, I have seen that the some of the main problems people have with math is not the actual math itself, but understanding what the problem is even asking. Reading comprehension is vital to success in math; I help students, not by telling them how to solve it nor by telling them what the question is asking for, but by guiding them to discover those answers for themselves. In this way, I help them see that they have the ability to conquer math, instead of it conquering them.

I can meet online between 3PM and 9PM MDT, Monday through Saturday. If your schedule does not fit in those times, please send me a message! I am eager to help anyone learn about these subjects. Message me if you want to learn more about why the way I teach will help you internalize the concepts now so you don't need a tutor later.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Physics requires lots of number manipulation, something which is key in Algebra. This requires a different point of view on mathematics, which is what I teach to math students.
Calculus

Calculus

I took AP Calculus AB in high school, earning a 5 on the AP test. I took Honors Calculus II my first semester in college and Calculus 3 the following semester. I used calculus every day in the physics classes for my degree, needing to set up integrals and take derivatives of practical problems. Calculus takes a certain way of thinking, which I am more than happy to share with you!
CSS

CSS

I have been working full time for RaceEntry.com for the past 4 years as a Web Developer. I now work as the company's UX Specialist, and apart from creating mock ups for the dev team, I go one step further and experiment with CSS to discover what features myself and the team are unaware of.
HTML

HTML

I have been working full time for RaceEntry.com for the past 4 years. After my first year, I was promoted to DevTeam Supervisor. I work with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS 40 hours a week.

Physics

Physics

Physics I and II are my bread and butter! I've done more physics tutoring than any other subject. After earning A's for the higher level classes of Classical Mechanics and Electrodynamics, I thoroughly understand all the details of Physics I and II. I can help you get the true feel for physics so you don't have to wonder how to set up the problem or which equation to use ever again!
Spanish

Spanish

I took 3 years of Spanish in high school, earning A's all along the way. I was inducted into the National Hispanic Honor Society during my senior year. I then lived in Chile for 2 years, speaking, conversing, buying groceries, ordering food at restaurants, etc., all in Spanish. I have retained my fluency through continued reading, writing, and translating in Spanish. I have also recently served as an interpreter in a doctor's office for Spanish-speaking patients.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I got a 5 on the AP Calculus test, which uses Trig. I graduated Cum Laude from USU with my degree in Physics. Trig is used in Physics to simplify radicals and integrals, and I am familiar with the manipulation of Trig identities in order to do so.
Web Design

Web Design

I completed my Master's of User Experience Design in Dec 2024. I have been working in this field since July 2025, discussing pain points with users, drilling down to the core issues, and designing interfaces to turn pain points into enjoyable workflows.
