I graduated in 2018 with my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Indiana Wesleyan University. I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Trine University in 2022. I went on to complete my pelvic health residency in 2023 and am now board certified in pelvic health as a physical therapist. I have guest lectured for 3 years in clinical practice classes regarding pre and postpartum at Trine University at the graduate level. I have also guest lectured in both Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy programs concerning anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.

I feel more than qualified to teach anatomy/physiology of the entire body, biomechanics. career development, study skills, natural science, exam prep such as the NPTE, and kinesiology. I was able to pass both my NPTE and my pelvic health physical therapy board exam on the first try. I received a score of 691 out of 800 on my first NPTE try with 600 being the minimum pass score. I scored a 596 out of 700 on my first pelvic health physical therapy board exam try with 500 being the minimum pass score. I maintained a 3.67 GPA throughout college while playing collegiate soccer.

I am used to teaching college and graduate level students but would love to help students of all ages! I like having students message me specific topics they are wanting help with so I can come prepared with a lesson plan specific to the student’s needs. I also enjoy using a whiteboard to visualize ideas and create similarities between ideas to build learning and retention. My goal is for students to pass their exams and become life long learners. Feel free to contact me with questions!

Anatomy

Anatomy

I have now taken 2 semesters of anatomy and physiology in university and 2 semesters of anatomy and physiology in my doctorate program. I have not only passed all 4 semesters with a 3.5 GPA, but also passed both board exams on the first try. These two board exams contained doctorate level anatomy and physiology.
Career Development

Career Development

I have completed my Doctor of Physical Therapy and then applied to become a pelvic health resident and was given and completed the residency in 2023. This took people skills, organization skills, and communication skills in order to bring my resume to the top. I now guest lecture at local Universities for DPT and OTD programs which also takes communications skills and the ability to public speak. I would love to help you with the soft skills that are required to stand out on interviews, complete job requirements, and move toward your career goals! Let me know if there is any questions!
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I have my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. I studied and passed extensive graduate level anatomy and physiology neuroscience. I studied and passed a rigorous principles of neuroscience course during my doctorate studies. I also had to apply neuroscience principles at a doctorate level in my courses as well.
Physiology

Physiology

I have now taken 2 semesters of anatomy and physiology in university and 2 semesters of anatomy and physiology in my doctorate program. I have not only passed all 4 semesters with a 3.5 GPA, but also passed both board exams on the first try. These two board exams contained doctorate level anatomy and physiology.
Soccer

Soccer

Hello I played soccer at Indiana Wesleyan University as the starting goalkeeper for my 4 years attending. I then went on to coach middle school and high school goalkeeping for 2 years. Amazing Tutor!

I can’t thank Alex enough for her incredible help with my biomechanics homework. Her patience and dedication made all the difference in my understanding of the material. She breaks down complex concepts clearly and encourages me to build my confidence along the way. Thanks to her support, I not only completed my assignments but also gained a deeper appreciation for biomechanics. I highly recommend Alex to anyone in need of a knowledgeable and supportive tutor!

Very thorough and patient.

I had a great experience working with Alex on anatomy and movement analysis, specifically the shoulder complex. Alex explained the concepts clearly and broke it down in a simple way that I could understand. Overall, the session was very helpful and I learned new tips and tricks to visual the movements and apply concepts to clinically-based problems. I now feel a lot more confident about my upcoming test!

Neuroscience

She is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to navigate challenging material. Her ability to break down complex concepts into simpler, digestible parts has made the learning process enjoyable and effective. This personalized approach has not only reinforced my understanding but has also inspired me to think critically about how to integrate neuroscience principles into practical applications.

Enthusiastic, empathetic, and timely!

Alex and I covered biomechanical principles related to speed vs velocity, displacement vs distance, and patterns of acceleration in both the positive and negative directions of planar movement! She helped me to better understand interpretations of these concepts through both real-life application-based resistance and endurance training questions as well as through graphical representations of data. Alex was extremely thorough in her approach and sought to ensure that I could not only comprehend, but apply the material before moving onto the next section! Overall, fantastic tutor!

Study Skill

Alex was great for our first session! We went over anatomy, physiology and PEAT questions to address test taking strategies while also addressing nerves during the exam. Alex was able to demonstrate movements and biomechanics concepts well in sense that was easy to understand clarify confusion I had! Will definitely continue to use Alex.

Patient and knowledgeable tutor!

It is clear that Alex has a lot of confidence in teaching anatomy and biomechanics. She is willing to go the extra mile to visually show material I am confused on - whether that be with videos, pictures, or showing the movement with her body. She is a great PT that comprehensively explains each mechanic and it is obvious that she understands anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics inside and out. Amazing!

Great Tutor

Alex was a great tutor! She helped me review the foot and ankle for my movement science class and gave me great study tips. She clearly explained how the foot moves in both open and closed chain positions, Her breakdown of movement mechanics really helped me grasp the material.
