I'm Vishwa, a 3rd year Biomedical Sciences undergraduate in the 7-year BS/MD program at the University of South Florida, where I also conduct genitourinary cancer research across three labs. I scored a 520 on the MCAT (97th percentile), with a balanced 130/129/131/130 across all four sections, but I didn't start there. My first diagnostic came back at a 484, and it took six months of deliberate, section-by-section work to close that gap, so I've been on both ends of this exam: the discouraging early diagnostic and the score that actually opens doors.
I never clicked with sitting down and reading through textbooks, so I built my own prep around that instead of fighting it. My process for each section had two phases: a focused content review to build the foundation, then a disciplined system for reviewing every practice question I got wrong, or got right without knowing why, organized by subject. Through this method, I was able to systematically expose and fix knowledge gaps and strategy issues, taking me from that 484 to the final 520 score. I walk students through this method too, diagnosing exactly where their gaps are to determine what to work on, instead of reviewing everything equally. If the standard textbook-heavy advice hasn't worked for you, I built my prep around not needing it, and I can help you find what does for any of the four sections.
I also bring over four years of one-on-one tutoring experience in SAT prep and competition math, helping high schooler students solve problems under time constraints. That translates directly to the MCAT, where students also need to sift through passages for important information and answer questions under time pressure. Whether you're just starting your MCAT prep, stuck on a score plateau, or want section-specific help with Bio/Biochem, Chem/Phys, CARS, or Psych/Soc, I'd love to work with you. Feel free to reach out; I'm happy to talk through your specific situation with an intro consultation so we can make sure it's a good fit.
