Hello! I'm Tyler, a Mathematics PhD candidate at Central Michigan University, with an emphasis in Collegiate Mathematics Education who wants to see people enjoy learning math. I've been tutoring for over 10 years and teaching college math courses for the past 7 years, so I know first hand how fast-paced and intimidating these courses can be. Before teaching college, I was a Lead STEM tutor at California State University, Channel Islands, and have tutored students of all ages, from Pre-K up through 12th grade and beyond. Currently, I am earning my Ph.D. In Mathematics with an emphasis in Collegiate Education at Central Michigan University. I also have a Master's in Mathematics from Central Michigan University, and a B.S. in Pure Mathematics from Cal. State, Channel Islands. I have taught courses ranging from Intermediate Algebra up through Linear Algebra & Differential equations, and have experience tutoring nearly every undergraduate mathematics course offered at most universities, including calculus, real analysis, set theory, discrete math, combinatorics, and more. I also have research and tutoring experience in Statistics, as well as experience teaching Pre-service Teacher math courses. During my years teaching I have also received awards for Best Graduate Teaching Assistant and Best Graduate Tutor during 2020, and due to having my own learning disabilities, am experienced in tutoring students with learning disabilities.
I say all this because I can meet you at whatever level you are at and help design a curriculum around what you need to succeed.
