Hello future students! My name is Noelle A. and I am 23 years old.
As my student, it is very important to me that your tutoring needs and learning style is prioritized. I am a great and consistent communicator and very accommodating and understanding to everyone's individual needs. Two teaching styles I personally tend to use is using diagrams or illustrations to visualize what I'm explaining and using examples for practice to support critical thinking skills. I am happy to learn about what learning approach works for you and take that approach to tutor you.
My first language is German, so I am happy to work with students learning German as well as international German students who need help understanding their homework better. As an upper-class social work student, I have become very well-versed in social work and psychology, having two previous internship experiences at a methadone clinic and a re-entry program for previously incarcerated people.
I am starting my final year of my undergraduate social work program at the University of Pittsburgh in the Fall and am also working on a sociology minor. I currently have a 3.9 GPA and am part of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I received my Associate’s Degree in Social Work with High Honors from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) in December of 2024. This is also where I have completed a Drug & Alcohol Certificate to become well-versed in substance use specifically.
I have previous tutoring experience from High School when I was helping special ed students with their school work. I also grew up helping my little sister with her homework after school whenever she needed help.
