Hi! I’m Hala, a Princeton University graduate and MCAT tutor who knows firsthand how overwhelming — and fixable — this exam can be. Hi! I’m Hala, a Princeton University graduate and MCAT tutor who knows firsthand how overwhelming — and fixable — this exam can be. I took the MCAT and initially scored a 498, then raised my score to a 513 just two months later, with subsection scores of 127 in Chem/Phys, 129 in CARS, 126 in Bio/Biochem, and 131 in Psych/Soc. That experience completely changed how I understand the test and how I teach it. I don’t believe most students are struggling because they’re “bad at science” — they’re struggling because the MCAT is a logic and strategy exam disguised as a content test.
I work primarily with college students, post-baccalaureate students, and nontraditional pre-meds in one-on-one settings. My tutoring focuses on MCAT strategy, passage analysis, and high-yield thinking rather than passive memorization. I help students break down passages efficiently, identify what the question is truly asking, and eliminate answer choices with confidence. I’m especially strong in CARS and Psych/Soc, where I teach students how to spot patterns, anticipate question types, and stay calm under time pressure.
What sets my approach apart is that it’s rooted in real improvement, not theory. I know what it feels like to be stuck in the low 500s and unsure how to move forward — and I also know exactly what changed to make that jump into the 510+ range. My goal is to help students study smarter, not longer, and to give them tools they can immediately apply to practice exams and question banks. I aim for every session to leave students feeling clearer, more confident, and genuinely capable of improving their score.
