I am a Biomedical Engineer with two Project Management certifications and a strong background in mathematics, science, and analytical problem-solving. I currently work full time in industry, where I regularly apply these skills to solve complex, realworld problems. I am available to tutor during evenings and weekends and enjoy helping students strengthen both their academic understanding and their confidence.

I have several years of tutoring experience working closely with my own children, who are currently in fifth grade and ninth grade. Supporting students at different grade levels and with very different learning styles has given me valuable insight into how students think, where they commonly struggle, and how to adapt explanations to meet individual needs. I am especially experienced in helping students with middle school and high school math and science courses, including building foundational skills, preparing for assessments, and improving problemsolving techniques.

My tutoring approach is structured yet supportive. I focus on clearly explaining concepts in plain language, working through sample problems step by step, and then guiding students as they solve similar problems on their own. I emphasize understanding the “why” behind each step rather than memorization, so students can apply what they learn confidently in new situations. Throughout each session, I encourage questions and adjust my pace based on the student’s comfort level.

My goal as a tutor is to create a positive, lowpressure learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning at their own pace. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping each student develop strong problemsolving skills and greater confidence in their academic abilities.

Highly experienced tutor

I've worked with Terri twice, on a Microsoft Project Assignment. I'm totally new to Microsoft Project, so what Terri and I did was after I followed the instructions for the assignment, I'd send him my work and the assignment’s instructions, so he could review what I'd done. Then he'd send me the notes on my work. And after that, we’d schedule a virtual meeting so we could discuss his notes and I could get clarity on the parts of the assignment that I needed to make revisions on. I got full marks for the first assignment he worked with me on, and I'll be submitting the second one today. I'm pretty sure it's going to get a high grade too. Both times I worked with Terrri, he had a quick turnaround time, and that's another reason I’m going to work with him again. Also, in my second meeting with him today, I liked how in parts of the meeting, he paused so I could think through the work, and come up with the answers myself. Because of this, I left the meeting with an even better understanding of how Microsoft Project works, and why it's a key tool for project management. I'd certainly recommend you get in touch with Terri too, when you need someone who's got significant experience in project management to be a second set of eyes for the work you're submitting.
