Biomedical Engineer Helping Students Build Math & Science Confidence

Hello and thank you for considering me as your tutor. I am a Biomedical Engineer with two Project Management certifications and a strong background in mathematics, science, and analytical problem-solving. I currently work full time in industry, where I regularly apply these skills to solve complex, realworld problems. I am available to tutor during evenings and weekends and enjoy helping students strengthen both their academic understanding and their confidence.

I have several years of tutoring experience working closely with my own children, who are currently in fifth grade and ninth grade. Supporting students at different grade levels and with very different learning styles has given me valuable insight into how students think, where they commonly struggle, and how to adapt explanations to meet individual needs. I am especially experienced in helping students with middle school and high school math and science courses, including building foundational skills, preparing for assessments, and improving problemsolving techniques.

My tutoring approach is structured yet supportive. I focus on clearly explaining concepts in plain language, working through sample problems step by step, and then guiding students as they solve similar problems on their own. I emphasize understanding the “why” behind each step rather than memorization, so students can apply what they learn confidently in new situations. Throughout each session, I encourage questions and adjust my pace based on the student’s comfort level.

My goal as a tutor is to create a positive, lowpressure learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning at their own pace. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping each student develop strong problemsolving skills and greater confidence in their academic abilities.
