I hold a dual bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics, and I’ve been tutoring math since 2008. During my undergraduate years, I worked full time as a tutor, supporting both college-level peers and local students from elementary through high school. My passion for helping others understand math led to a position at Sylvan Learning Center, where I worked with students of all ages. After graduating, I joined Mathnasium in Chicago and eventually became their Director of Training, where I not only tutored students but also trained and mentored new instructors. When I returned to my hometown in Texas, I took on the role of Center Director in Wichita Falls.

In addition to my work in tutoring centers, I spent several years teaching grades 6 through 12 at Christ Academy. There, I developed a full math curriculum for asynchronous learning and taught in a variety of settings: virtually, in person, in classrooms, and one-on-one. I’ve worked with students preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and GED, as well as adults studying for officer exams and professional advancement. My experience includes both remedial support and enrichment, and I am well-versed in Texas educational standards and Common Core approaches.

Currently, I work full time as an instructional designer at Texas State Technical College, where I design courses that prioritize clarity, engagement, and real-world application. Across all my roles, I’ve focused on making math approachable, helping learners at every level build not just skills but confidence. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, I bring both expertise and empathy to every tutoring session.

ACT Math

I’ve been tutoring math since 2008 and have helped students of all ages prepare for the ACT with clarity and confidence. I hold degrees in Mathematics and Physics and have served as Director of Training at Mathnasium, where I coached other tutors while continuing to teach students myself. I also designed a full math curriculum for grades 6–12, specifically for asynchronous digital learning, aligning with both Common Core and Texas TEKS standards. My approach emphasizes practical strategies, skill-building, and personalized support to help students reach their ACT goals.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I’ve been tutoring Algebra 1 since 2008, helping students master core skills such as solving equations, graphing functions, and understanding linear relationships. I hold degrees in Mathematics and Physics and have taught grades 6 through 12 in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I’ve also developed a full Algebra curriculum for asynchronous digital learning aligned with Common Core and Texas TEKS standards. Whether a student needs remediation or enrichment, I provide personalized, practical instruction that builds confidence and long-term understanding.
Common Core

Common Core

I developed a full math curriculum for grades 6 through 12 designed specifically for asynchronous digital learning. This included creating video lessons, assessments, and interactive materials aligned with both Texas TEKS and Common Core standards. My approach focused on clarity, flexibility, and real-world application to help students succeed at their own pace. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how to support diverse learners in both virtual and one-on-one settings.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have over 15 years of tutoring experience, including one-on-one work with elementary students in math, reading, and foundational study skills. I’ve supported learners from diverse backgrounds and ability levels, helping them build confidence and make lasting academic progress. My background in instructional design and curriculum development allows me to break complex concepts into age-appropriate lessons that keep young students engaged. I focus on patience, encouragement, and real-world connections to help students enjoy learning and succeed long-term.
