I am studying computer engineering, and I have a strong base in mathematics and technical subjects. I have developed my understanding of algebraic thinking, logical reasoning, and analytical skills through my coursework. This makes it easier for me to explain even most complex concepts in simple ways for students to understand. My technical background gives me confidence when breaking down problems into smaller pieces as well as the ability to show students how to face any challenge they encounter in a systematic effort through clear steps.
In talking with my classmates/peers, I have helped them understand difficult material in both one-on-one situations and small groups. To meet each student’s individual needs, I approach tutoring using a variety of methods including examples, guided practice, and real life connections based on his or her preferred learning style. I believe that building confidence is just as important as improving academically because when students are confident in their abilities to ask questions and learn from mistakes, they will achieve better results overall.
I have worked with both high school and current college-level students throughout my tutoring career, focusing mostly on those subjects which involve math. My goal is to encourage and support students by providing them with an environment that helps them achieve success academically while building confidence in themselves as learners.
My passion is to help students succeed in their studies by developing a strong foundation for study and problem-solving skills that will benefit them for years to come. I have an organizational style, plus I have plenty of time available to spend with them while assisting with academic success. When working with students as a tutor, it is my responsibility to assist them in improving his/her grades by assisting him/her in gaining confidence in being able to learn and/or to be able to solve problems on his/her own.
