I have an extensive background teaching rhetoric and composition and British and World Literature surveys at the university (Idaho State University and Southern Methodist University) and community college level (McLennan Community College, TSTC, Central Texas College, El Centro-Dallas) as well as teaching English at the secondary level (Tennyson Middle School where I taught Writing Across the Curriculum and University High where I taught AP and academic students. Additionally, I have worked as a library researcher at Baylor University and as a reporter for the Killeen Daily Herald.
I hold an MS in Library Science (2012) from the University of North Texas, a Ph. D. in English (1995) from Texas Christian University, and an M.A. and B.A. in English from Baylor University.
I am certified to teach ESL/ESOL, and I specialized in the British novel and rhetoric/composition for my Ph. D. However, I also have some very practical writing skills since I was at one time a newspaper reporter for the Killeen Daily Herald.
