I am a 1st Year Medical Student at the Joe and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UTSA and have over 2 years and 200+ hours of tutoring experience. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baylor University with a triple major in Baylor Business Fellows, Biology, and Economics. I scored a 98th percentile score on the MCAT and successfully navigated the application process to matriculate to a competitive medical school. I served as president of my University's Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honor Society Chapter, and have reviewed over 200 personal statements and applications. Beyond this, I have over 200+ hours of tutoring experience with the MCAT. I specialize in the Chemistry/Physics, CARS, and Biology/Biochemistry section, and have helped my students to improve their scores by 3-4 points in each of these sections through my unique blend of active reading strategies and test taking techniques. With each new student, I offer a 15 minute complementary consultation where we discuss areas for improvement and develop a personalized study plan to help you reach your goals. I am a firm believer that you perform how you practice, and so I use AAMC-approved study resources to prepare students for the real conditions for the exam. With this approach, I have had students improve their scores by up to 20 points, and I would love to help you do the same!

At Baylor, I have achieved A's in science courses including Biology 1 and 2, Chemistry 1 and 2, Physics 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Biochemistry, Human Physiology, Advanced Physiology, Microbiology, Genetics, Topics in Evolution, Anatomy, Pathophysiology, and Genomics. I am involved in Neurobiology research studying changes in innervation of the cochlea which has augmented my scientific background, allowing me to speak to science in both an education and applicational aspect. Outside of science, I have also taken many classics, business, and economics courses that afford a multidisciplinary approach to tutoring to augment material retention.

Ian is such a fantastic tutor.

Not only does he make sure to be available at any time you need, but he can make any form of learning work. Whether you need a quick video, a full session, or just one problem- he can help. His knowledge of any STEM related class is endless, and he truly does care about you doing well. As a pre-med student myself, I would recommend him to anyone who needs help with any of the required classes, or even for general pre-medicine advice.

Very knowledgeable tutor

Ian is always available and goes out of his way to check on my progress. He is very knowledgeable of the material and has helped me unlock the patterns to effectively and efficiently address a CARS passage. I recommend meeting with Ian to achieve new strategies and improve to increase the scores on the CARS section.

Patient Relatable and Makes Content Engaging

He relates to the student and speaks to them in a way that actually resonates with them, making conceots the student finds uninteresting or hard more easily understandable.
