Howdy, my name is Matt and I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Houston. I received both my Bachelor's degree (in Creative Writing and Philosophy) and Master's degree from Texas A&M University. Alongside my current degree, I am the Reviews and Interviews editor for the Gulf Coast Literary Journal and a freelance reader and copy editor. I am always looking for students eager to learn!

My experience with tutoring ranges from elementary UIL Editorial Writing coaching to a year of teaching college-level technical writing courses. In addition, I've worked with second-language learners on conversational English and have been an editor for several journals and publishers. To me, tutoring is the informal yet thoroughly-involved process of education that is critically important to all of us. Knowledge is meant to be shared!

As a graduate student, my writing skills were under constant scrutiny, and now, I have streamlined my writing and editing process and have been able to relate that experience to my students and clients for over a year now. My blend of academic and creative writing has allowed me to view any piece of writing from a variety of grammatical, structural, and aesthetic perspectives, and I believe many people can benefit from my particular skills.
