I’m Jennifer aka JP! I graduated with a master’s degree in chemistry. I have a love for teaching that was seen early on as I loved to learn, and I loved to teach others what I learned. My earliest memory is lining up my teddy bears to play school as their teacher. Over the years, I have helped my family members and classmates through peer tutoring. Reflection over these childhood experiences is what led me to education as my career path.

Currently, I am a high school chemistry teacher with over 10 years of experience. I teach tenth grade Pre-AP Chemistry as well as 11th and 12th grade AP Chemistry. AP Chemistry course content is equivalent to college general chemistry I and II. Of course, as a teacher I provide full classroom instruction, but I also provided one-on-one tutoring for students who need addition assistance. Outside of the classroom, I also private tutor. I have provided private tutoring for over 10 years as well. My classroom experience and my vast experience as a tutor gives me the advantage of knowing which areas students struggle with the most and exactly how to help students overcome these struggles.
I enjoy hearing student success stories, but I love to watch when students start to understand and get it. With Chemistry being so abstract in some instances, it is a challenging subject for a lot of students. However, once students start to understand and get it, they can truly enjoy the beauty of the subject and begin to learn with a different viewpoint. I look forward to working with new students and helping in however I can. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson to help you find success in your chemistry class!
