Hi, I'm Hannah! I graduated from college summa cum laude, with Honors, with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and a minor in Biology, and I am currently working towards earning my PharmD. In high school I graduated Valedictorian! I have always had a love for learning any topic in school, but especially all of the math and science courses. I have always had a knack for them, but despite all of that, I found that the most rewarding work I did was in helping my other classmates understand the material we learned. I realized that even the most difficult of subjects can be fun to study with the right help and a compassionate teacher to guide you through it, and over my years as a student, I knew I needed to continue being a teacher as well.
I have two years of experience with 1-on-1 tutoring for math classes. During this time, I was able to work with individual students to reach them where they were, address the individual issues that they were struggling with for each subject, and guide them towards understanding the material and being able to reach the solutions on their own. I believe that the best way to tutor a student is to help build the pathways for them to be able to find the answers and information themselves. While my 1-on-1 tutoring focused on math subjects, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Algebra, and Pre-Calculus, I also during this time organized small group sessions with underclassmen for science subjects, including Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, and others. In these small groups, I helped students strengthen their understanding of these subjects and develop the ability to use each other's strengths to help build each other up and guide each other through the subject matter as well.
