By way of introduction, I have a master's and Ph.D. in Physics. I also have a Post-Doctoral fellowship in Medical Physics from UPENN. I have several years of teaching and research experience in pure and applied physics. I am now retired as Associate Professor devoting full-time spread between tutoring, gardening and cooking.

In my teaching experience, I found that when students are introduced to Physics topics, they are generally terrified by the concepts and definitions. In Physics, some topics are intuitive, and others are non-intuitive. I find it well worth the time to explain the concepts and follow with definitions. Sometimes, an exemplary demonstration is essential if the concept is to be made to feel at home.

With any student, I would like to spend some time getting to know him/her and the difficulty s/he is having in their own words. Once topics are made known, I will start with the concept first and then give the definition. The successful student will understand the definition once the concept is clear in his/her head, and problems become easier to understand. My favorite part is when a student is having difficulty with a problem or concept, and I can explain and see that the student gets the solution.

Although my tutoring experience began with a single student while I was doing my graduate studies, it allowed me to develop confidence as a teacher. After I graduated with my Ph.D. in Physics, I was working as an assistant professor at Hunter College of the City University of New York. I was teaching Physics to the freshman class of pre-engineering students. I taught Medical Physics to medical students (MRI) for 21 years before retiring this year.

I love everything about teaching. Interacting with students and helping them achieve success in developing his/her potential in science has been my goal. Now that I am retired from my current employment, I have plenty of time to engage in tutoring, which has been my passion.

Julia-Magnetic resonance imaging

Anil was wonderful. He has a timeline to help new students who have no direct or where to start. He uses PowerPoint, black board, and video conferencing to help really establish the connection while learning. That part helped me most was the several different avenues he navigated through to help me learn the vast material. Anil would ask me if there was an area I was wanting to focus on or something I didn’t quite understand. He was very patient with me (single mom) who occasionally had interruptions from my daughter and was very kind when she would jump in. He took me from a failed registry to a passed one. I am so grateful! Highly recommend!

Amazing, Knowledgeable, and Fun tutor

Before starting my MRI physics sessions with Anil, I didn't understand the MRI physics principles and what each principle meant and I am getting ready to take the Registry exam to become a full time MRI Technologist so that brought me so much anxiety just thinking about the whole process I have to go through. All I can say is that I am thankful and grateful I found Anil, he makes learning very fun and makes you understand it in a way that you will never forget it and it can be implanted in your brain. What I love and found very convenient that way he outlines each detail by drawing it out and explaining it from beginning to the end. I just want to thank him for everything he's done to help me to achieve this subject and for making me learn something new each and everyday throughout our sessions. THANK YOU ANIL!!! I APPRECIATE YOU AND YOUR HELP!!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Anil is very knowledgeable in the field of Physics and MRI. He explained the concepts clearly and used many visual drawings in a coherent manner to help me. After multiple sessions with Anil I was confident going into my final exam in which I aced.
