I am a reliable and dedicated teacher with 13 years of teaching experience as a college professor and three years of teaching experience as a high school teacher. I have an undergraduate degree in geology from the University of Buea, Cameroon and a graduate degree in geochemistry from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. I am a reliable and dedicated teacher with 13 years of teaching experience as a college professor and three years of teaching experience as a high school teacher. I have an undergraduate degree in geology from the University of Buea, Cameroon and a graduate degree in geochemistry from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. My terminal degree is in Environmental science from Arkansas State University. I enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in someone else’s life. Teaching is also a way for me to share my love of my discipline with my students. During the last 13 years, I taught a number of courses including introductory chemistry and general chemistry, physical science, physical geology, environmental science and earth science. I managed a successful peer tutorial program where advanced students will sit in on my lectures and then tutor their peers that were falling behind.

I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures and with varied levels of academic preparation. I approach every lecture or tutor session differently because I have a good understanding of the techniques to reach students with different learning styles. I always give my students the necessary background information before guiding them through problem solving in all the disciplines I teach. I take time to understand my students and I will adapt my teaching style to meet individual student needs. Based on their level of preparation I make a determination of what types of problems to assign. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need clarification. Peter has taught me many things. Often-times when I am struggling in science, I can come to Peter without feeling nervous about asking questions or learning. Peter does an excellent job making sure you understand every problem and makes you realize that there is not just one answer to a question. I have had him since the begging of the school year and have gotten Straight A's in Integrated Geoscience this year. Because of his teaching and helpfulness, I will be able to take AP bio next year. I would highly, highly recommend Peter over other Geoscience tutors because he makes you feel welcome and helped me out a lot. Overall, he is the best tutor I have had so far.
