I have a strong academic and professional background in Computer Science and writing, supported by formal education, university-level teaching, and long-term professional experience. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Until recently, I worked in senior program and project management roles at large global organizations, including Apple, Infosys, and Daikin, where I was responsible for leading complex technical initiatives and working closely with engineering teams. This experience allows me to teach technical subjects with real-world context and clarity, not just theory.

My teaching experience spans multiple colleges, where I taught Computer Science courses to undergraduate students in classroom settings. In addition to formal teaching, I have extensive one-on-one and small-group instructional experience through mentoring, tutoring, and guided academic support. Alongside my technical background, I am a published author of literary fiction and have led several long-running critique groups under the Houston Writers Guild, where I worked closely with writers at different stages to develop analytical thinking, clarity of expression, and disciplined revision habits. I also serve as the creative director of a theater organization, where I mentor performers and writers on storytelling, performance, and interpretation.

My tutoring approach is structured, patient, and diagnostic. I focus on understanding how each student thinks and identifying exactly where confusion begins. In Computer Science, I emphasize logic, problem decomposition, and transferable reasoning skills rather than rote memorization. In writing, I help students organize their ideas clearly, strengthen arguments, and communicate with confidence while meeting academic expectations. Parents and students appreciate that I balance rigor with encouragement, creating a supportive environment where learners feel respected, capable, and steadily more independent.

Computer Science

Computer Science

I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science and have taught Computer Science courses at multiple colleges at the undergraduate level. Until recently, I worked in senior program management roles at large global technology companies, collaborating closely with software engineers and technical teams on complex systems and applications. This combination of academic teaching and industry experience allows me to explain computer science concepts clearly, logically, and with real-world relevance. I focus on building strong foundational understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence rather than rote memorization.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I am a published literary author who writes in both English and Bengali, with short fiction, poetry, and critical writing appearing in literary journals and anthologies. My creative practice spans multiple forms, including prose, theatre, and film; I have written plays that have been staged by theatre groups and have written and directed a short film that has screened at international film festivals. I have mentored writers through structured critique groups and invited lectures, helping them develop craft, revision discipline, and critical reading skills. My approach to creative writing is diagnostic and craft-centered rather than formula-driven. I work closely with writers to clarify voice, structure, character psychology, and language, and to identify where confusion, imitation, or avoidance may be weakening the work. Drawing on experience across genres, languages, and performance-based storytelling, I focus on close reading, thoughtful revision, and helping students gain confidence and independence in their creative expression.
Data Structures

Data Structures

I have formal training in Computer Science at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and have taught Computer Science courses at the college level. In Data Structures, I focus on building deep conceptual understanding by helping students reason about abstraction, references, invariants, and time–space trade-offs rather than relying on memorization. I work closely with students on structures such as arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, hash-based structures, and graphs, emphasizing how to mentally simulate operations, preserve correctness, and choose appropriate structures for a given problem. My goal is to help students develop confidence and transferable problem-solving skills that carry across coursework, programming tasks, and technical interviews.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I work with students on academic essay writing across disciplines, focusing on clarity of thought, structure, and well-supported argumentation. My background includes university-level teaching, extensive critical writing and review work, and long-term mentoring of writers through structured critique groups. I help students move from vague or overloaded drafts to clear, focused essays by strengthening thesis development, organization, evidence use, and revision strategy. My approach emphasizes critical thinking, disciplined rewriting, and helping students gain confidence in expressing complex ideas clearly and responsibly.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I am a published fiction writer working in both English and Bengali, with short stories appearing in literary journals and anthologies. I help fiction writers develop stronger stories by working closely on narrative structure, voice, character psychology, and scene construction, with particular attention to how form and language shape meaning. My experience includes mentoring writers through critique groups, adapting stories across prose, theatre, and film, and guiding writers through thoughtful revision rather than formulaic techniques. My approach emphasizes close reading, disciplined rewriting, and helping writers gain clarity, confidence, and independence in their storytelling.
JQuery

JQuery

I have a strong foundation in web development concepts and practical experience working with jQuery for client-side scripting. I help students understand how jQuery simplifies DOM manipulation, event handling, and interaction with HTML and CSS, focusing on clear mental models rather than copy-paste patterns. My approach emphasizes reading and modifying existing code, understanding selectors and event flow, and building small, functional features step by step. I aim to help students gain confidence working with front-end logic and integrating jQuery into broader web applications.
Oracle

Oracle

I have a strong foundation in relational database concepts and practical experience working with Oracle databases and SQL. I help students understand how data is structured, queried, and managed in Oracle by focusing on core ideas such as tables, relationships, joins, constraints, and indexing. My approach emphasizes writing clear, correct SQL queries, understanding how queries execute, and developing sound data-modeling intuition rather than memorizing syntax. I aim to help students gain confidence working with Oracle in academic settings, coursework, and practical database tasks.
Perl

Perl

I have practical experience working with Perl for scripting, text processing, and problem solving in technical and academic contexts. I help students understand Perl syntax, control flow, regular expressions, and file handling by focusing on how the language is used to manipulate data and automate tasks rather than memorizing patterns. My approach emphasizes reading and understanding existing scripts, debugging logically, and writing clear, maintainable code. I aim to help students gain confidence working with Perl in coursework, legacy systems, and practical scripting scenarios.
