With a strong background in the sciences, 5 years of college counseling experience, 7 years of one-on-one tutoring experience across high school subjects, and a deep commitment to equity in education, I am excited about the opportunity to support students on their path to higher education, especially those pursuing rigorous STEM trajectories.
I hold a B.S. in Cell Biology and Genetics and a B.A. in Social Policy Analysis from Rice University and am currently a medical student at UTMB. As a peer academic advisor and pre-med student navigating an interdisciplinary double major at Rice, I became deeply familiar not only with the demands of STEM programs but also with how to support students in balancing academics with meaningful extracurricular and research experiences. Since graduating, I’ve continued to mentor students through the college application process, helping them gain admission to top programs like the University of Texas Health Science Scholars Honors program, Emory Woodruff Scholars Program, Tufts, and Rice University. I have also helped students along their medical school application journeys. My students have gone on to attend top-tier medical schools like McGovern and A&M. Additionally, I have tutored Biology, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Writing, and more.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend strategic college advising with genuine student mentorship. I’ve supported students across a wide range of academic profiles and cultural backgrounds, including those in AP and IB programs (I myself was an IB student!), and I take pride in helping each student articulate a unique and authentic narrative in their application. I’m also experienced in editing essays, building personalized college lists, advising on course selection, and helping students prepare for interviews. In addition to one-on-one advising, I’ve led group workshops, including hosting a senior college application panel at my high school and group summer classes on how to succeed at the SAT.
