A passionate Elementary, Middle Year Educator, IB Examiner and leader with 17+ years experience in teaching children ranging from the ages of 11 years old up to 16 years old. I have been teaching since 2007 where I have gained valuable experience in different curriculums IGCSE, IB, American, Australian etc and working with many diverse cultures. In addition to my current role as a Math teacher, I have also thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of being the Assistant Vice President at BYJUS Future School where I lead, managed and developed the Math Program.
The focus of my educational philosophy is our students: they are at the center of their learning experience, they are empowered by dreams, and they are equipped with skills to become life-long learners. My role as a Math teacher is that of a facilitator - Someone who is guiding them, supporting them, motivating them, inspiring and encouraging the students also at times initiating opportunities for them to think. I also believe that it is important for a student to feel safe, loved and respected in the class. Only then they would be open to discussions, asking questions and collaborative. It is ok for a student to make mistakes or ask questions. My classes are noisy where students learn math with fun. I have always placed a great importance on the relationships that I build with my students, as well as their parents, to ensure that their wellbeing is always at the forefront of their learning journey.
