First of all I was an air traffic controller in the 1960's primarily as a Navy Control Tower Operator. In order to perform this function, a person must not be afraid to step up to a microphone and speak. After I began working for the US Army system I was tasked with presenting materials that were both boring and time consuming. I presented this material in a way that included both humor and factual information at the same time. I have presented papers at various seminars and training sessions since 1971. In undergraduate degree program I completed a course on public speaking and have been involved as a corporate trainer and speaker since. While in Germany for a three year assignment for the US Army, I was taught to speak German.
