I love languages and teaching, for the past five years I have worked as high school French and English teacher. During that time, I taught English 1, French 1, French 2, pre-AP French 3, and AP French 4. This year, I have chosen to stay at home with my son full time, but I have continued working a few hours per week at a high school as an English tutor for students grades 9-12.

My favorite thing about tutoring is its personalized nature; I can fully meet my student where he/she is and take that student further, working towards individual growth. Whether you want to improve your writing and reading in English, need French conversation practice, vocabulary development, or AP French test preparation, or maybe you are struggling to succeed on the English standardized tests and need assistance there, I would love to help you meet your goals.

I have taught levels 1-4 (4 being an AP class) of French in the high school setting, and I have also tutored elementary students in French. I can help you develop practical, communicative skills, and my experience with the AP test is invaluable to those seeking to earn university credit. I have also led multiple student groups to France and have insights to share from those experiences. I have a degree in French with certification to teach K-12.

I’ve used the writers and readers workshop methods, and I believe in a skills based approach to growing students as readers and writers. I’m an essay-nerd who loves a good writing assignment and have a degree in English with secondary certification to teach grades 7-12. Reading is my favorite hobby, so I can often find a book that will tempt even the most reluctant readers!
