Hello, my name is Alejandra M. I grew up in Peru, where I studied psychology and language. I am a native Spanish speaker, and I have a master's degree in Psychology (human resources). I speak four languages: French, Portugues and English and later went on to tutor these subjects. I traveled to France as a cultural exchange student, where I attended a school named “Lycee of Marseille” for 4 months. There, I received a certificate for reaching advanced French. For my Portugues, I solo-studied and also used a tutor because it was a language that I was attracted to. After some time, I obtained an international certificate for my Portugues “Celpebras” which I used when I traveled Brazil to further my fluency.
In terms of my English, I have studied in high school, and in the university. I have been to America four times which allowed me to practice and improve my English. Last year, I became married, and have been living in KC ever since.
Working as a psychologist during these last years, I traveled to different companies in Peru teaching others about psychology/human resources, ranging from a 25-person lecture, as a personal business coach, and also one-on-one tutoring. I have experience tutoring in Spanish and French lessons depending on what the student wants. Some examples include test preparation, grade improvement, increase in confidence, fluency, or just interested to learn a new language.
Last year I was doing one-on-one tutoring in an ESL program (English as a second language) at Mission Adelante in KC for four months.
I’m passionate about languages and helping others to learn. My specialty is teaching others about Spanish, since that is my native language. Whether you are preparing for a test, interview, travel or just conversational Spanish--then I can help. I can tutor different levels, say, if you are beginner, intermediate, or advanced.
