I’m a former and current middle school math teacher with 20 years of classroom and tutoring experience, holding an active K–8 teaching certificate. I’ve worked with students in grades 4–10 and understand where math breakdowns most often occur.

My tutoring starts with a brief diagnostic using assessment, observation, and conversation. From there, I create an individualized plan to close gaps, reduce math stress, and build lasting confidence.

I have taught algebra to middle school students for 3 years. I have tutored the subject for over 5 years. I am familiar with the STAAR EOC that is required to pass an algebra course in the state of Texas.

Excellent Experience

Marvin was an excellent resource for my 6th grade son who was originally resisted tutoring. Lee was patient and firm with lots of neat strategies to teach the math concepts. I would definitely call Lee again to tutor my son due to his extensive knowledge of math concepts and teaching strategies.

I needed a tutor for my ten year old son who was looking to place out of 4th grade into 5th this summer. Unfortunately, we only had about 3 weeks to prepare! Marvin (Lee) took charge of the situation, came armed with all sorts of enrichment materials and worksheets, and did a fabulous job preparing my son. He managed to cover a whole year of social studies in less than 2 weeks! He was patient and truly interested in my child's success. He is not afraid to explore every avenue to make sure a student stays interested and involved in the learning process. I highly recommend him!
