Hi! I’m Kristen, a dedicated high school math teacher with 16 years of experience helping students build confidence and succeed in mathematics. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Houston, my Master’s in Mathematics Education from The University of Texas at Arlington, and recently completed 18 additional graduate-level math hours.
I have taught a wide range of courses including 7th Grade Math, Algebra 1 (Level and Honors), Geometry (Level and Honors), Algebra 2 (Level and Honors), and Honors Pre-Calculus. My experience teaching students at different skill levels allows me to adapt lessons to meet each student’s individual needs, whether they need remediation, homework help, test preparation, or enrichment.
For the past 4 years, I have also worked as a tutor. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring has been seeing students return year after year for continued support. I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve grades and test scores, but also to help them truly understand the “why” behind the math so they can become more independent and confident learners.
I understand that everyone learns differently, so I use multiple approaches to make challenging topics more manageable and easier to understand. Whether we are preparing for an upcoming test, catching up in class, or building stronger foundational skills, I work hard to make each tutoring session productive, personalized, and supportive.
I look forward to helping your student grow in both confidence and mathematical understanding!
