Hi, I'm Remy, and I'm very excited to share my love of words and writing with you! I graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts in both English and Creative Writing. Additionally, I have credits from Bowling Green State University towards a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (Fiction). In my time at Sewanee: The University of the South, I spent a year volunteering at a women's shelter where I and a few others taught poetry workshops to interested residents. During my time at Bowling Green State University, I taught two undergraduate classes over the course of two semesters: one general education course in academic writing and one general education course in research writing. I have also participated in several writing workshops over the past several years and therefore have multitudes of experience offering feedback and constructive criticism on writing at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Throughout my time and experience teaching at both aforementioned institutions, I have developed a firm idea of who I would like to be as a tutor and teacher. My objective is to meet students where they are in their writing journey. Additionally, I will help them recognize and develop their strengths while also helping them to improve in areas of difficulty. I believe everyone is capable of writing well, and that you don't have to change your personal style to do so (instead, you just have to acquire the right tools, which is why I'm here)! You should know that as an instructor/tutor, I am not going to push you to write how I would write. Instead, I am going to push you to write how you would write, but at your fullest potential.
