I am currently a senior at The John Cooper School in The Woodlands, Texas, graduating with a 4.13/4.0 GPA and a 1560 SAT score. I am also an incoming student at the University of Pennsylvania, where I plan to major in neuroscience with a minor in healthcare management through the Wharton School. Throughout high school, I have consistently excelled in mathematics, including Algebra I, Algebra II, and Precalculus, as well as in science courses, earning a score of 5 on both the AP Chemistry and AP Calculus BC exams. My strong academic foundation allows me to explain concepts clearly and break down more advanced topics into simple, manageable steps for students at different levels.
In addition to my academics, I have experience helping middle school and elementary school students through one-on-one tutoring and informal peer support. I often work with younger students who need help building confidence in math or understanding foundational concepts, and I focus on creating a patient, encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions. I am also very comfortable working with children, as I regularly tutor my younger sister at home and have developed a teaching style that is both engaging and supportive. My approach is to adapt to each student’s learning style, using step-by-step explanations, practice problems, and real-life examples to make lessons easier to understand.
As a tutor, I aim to not only improve grades but also help students develop strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude toward learning. I strive to make each session both productive and enjoyable, especially for younger students, so they feel motivated rather than overwhelmed. My goal is to ensure that students leave each lesson feeling more confident, capable, and prepared for their coursework.
