I am an experienced educator and tutor with over 15 years of teaching experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I hold a bachelor’s degree in History and English from Sam Houston State University and am certified in History, English, and Social Studies for grades 7–12. Throughout my career, I have worked with students across a wide range of ages and ability levels, including middle school, high school, and adult learners, helping them strengthen academic skills and build confidence.

My teaching experience includes traditional classroom instruction, online teaching, and individualized tutoring. I specialize in English, writing, U.S. history, world history, and social studies, and I support students with reading comprehension, essay writing, research skills, and content understanding. I focus on breaking down complex material into clear, manageable steps and adapting my approach to each student’s learning style and goals. Whether a student needs help improving grades, understanding coursework, or developing stronger study habits, I tailor each session to their specific needs.

As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material. Parents and students often describe my teaching style as patient, organized, and confidence-building. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them feel more capable and motivated as learners.

I have extensive experience supporting students in English language arts, including reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, writing skills, and academic communication. I’ve worked with middle school, high school, and college students on essays, research papers, AP-level writing, test prep, and strengthening overall clarity and confidence in their writing. My approach focuses on breaking skills into clear, manageable steps, helping students understand expectations, and guiding them through planning, drafting, revising, and editing. I also help students analyze texts, develop stronger arguments, and express their ideas clearly while building lasting skills they can apply independently.
United States History

United States History

I provide tutoring in U.S. History for middle school and high school students, focusing on building strong content understanding and historical thinking skills. I help students explore major topics such as early American history, the Constitution, westward expansion, the Civil War, Reconstruction, industrialization, and modern U.S. history. My approach emphasizes clear explanations, timelines, cause-and-effect relationships, and connecting historical events to broader themes. I support students with class assignments, test preparation, and long-term projects by breaking material into manageable steps and reinforcing key concepts. My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve academic performance, and better understand how U.S. history shapes the world today.
