Hey there! I’m Mona, a certified science educator with over 15 years of experience teaching middle and high school students in the heart of Houston, Texas. Science isn’t just what I teach—it’s who I am. From atoms to ecosystems, I bring real-world connections, humor, and heart into every lesson, making even the most complex concepts click.
I specialize in chemistry, but I’ve also taught biology, physical science, and general middle school science. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners—gifted students, students with ADHD, and those who’ve been told they “just aren’t science people.” Trust me, they are. They just haven’t had it broken down in a way that works for them yet. That’s where I come in.
My teaching style is patient, culturally responsive, and engaging. I meet students where they are and build their confidence through step-by-step explanations, visuals, analogies (yes, I use food and pop culture references—science doesn’t have to be boring!), and tons of encouragement. I believe every student can succeed with the right support and a little spark of curiosity.
I’m also a mom, so I understand the importance of creating a safe, supportive space for learning—especially when a student feels overwhelmed, behind, or frustrated. Whether your child is prepping for STAAR, struggling with chemistry concepts, or just needs someone who can explain things without making them feel small, I’m here for that.
Science is my passion, but watching students grow into confident, curious learners is my true purpose. Let’s turn those “I hate science” moments into “Ohhh, I get it now!” breakthroughs.
