Hi, my name is Kate, and I am currently a nursing student. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Biology and a minor in Computer Science. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a passion for helping others succeed in their studies, particularly in math and science, which are my strongest subjects.
During my time at UTSA, I served as a peer mentor for two years, where I guided students through challenging topics, especially in beginner math and science courses. I also worked as a Resident Assistant for the UTSA Residence and Housing for three years, organizing tutoring sessions for younger classmates, fostering a supportive learning environment. This hands-on experience helped me refine my tutoring methods to focus on building confidence and breaking down complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand.
Outside of my formal roles, I have always been the go-to tutor for my family, assisting my three younger siblings, who are in 3rd, 7th, and 11th grades. I find joy in helping students grasp difficult concepts, and I am committed to creating a comfortable space for learning, whether it’s through one-on-one sessions or in a group setting. My goal is to help students not only succeed in their coursework but also develop confidence in their academic abilities.
