As a current Bachelor of Science student in Computational Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, I bring a solid academic foundation and a passion for teaching and learning. I previously earned an Associate of Arts in Education from Lone Star College, where I graduated on the Dean’s List in May 2023. My educational background combines technical expertise in engineering with a strong commitment to education, allowing me to effectively connect with students and foster their academic growth.

As a tutor, I believe that interactive lessons are most effective for students. This includes asking a few comprehensive questions after each topic is shared or shadowing a student as they solve a problem, for example. I also prioritize regularly encouraging students to ask their own questions. I want students to think outside of the box, and urge them to approach failure as a learning experience rather than defeat. My goal is that each student will walk away from sessions with not only a better understanding of their subject but also the skills and learning techniques required to overcome academic challenges in the future.

I developed these beliefs and methods in online tutoring agencies such as Reach for the Stars, and in student teaching experiences from my Associate's degree. I have worked with a plethora of different learners, both online and in person. For each, I focused on tailoring my teaching materials to their needs. For some students, this was creating YouTube playlists that they could refer to after our sessions. For others, this was supporting the student as they worked through their homework, providing explanations and next steps when they were stuck. Whether working with students or collaborating on computational research, I am dedicated to empowering others through knowledge and innovation.
