I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring college students in mathematics, statistics, electrical engineering, physics, and related technical subjects. I earned BS (Honors), MS, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering, with doctoral specialization in statistical communication theory and extensive graduate-level coursework in calculus, probability, and statistics.

I began teaching at Texas A&M University, where I progressed from Lecturer to Adjunct Assistant Professor and taught hundreds of students in systems, controls, communications, circuits, signal processing, and other mathematically intensive engineering subjects. I later served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Rice University, teaching courses in electronics, artificial intelligence/neural networks, and entrepreneurship. Throughout my seven years of university teaching, one of the most rewarding parts of the job was working individually with students during office hours and helping them understand difficult concepts and solve challenging problems.

My approach to tutoring is to make complicated material understandable by breaking problems into logical, manageable steps. I want students to understand not only how to solve a particular problem step-by-step, but why the method works so they can confidently tackle similar problems on their own. With my combination of university teaching and real-world engineering experience, I can also help students see how the mathematics and science they are learning are applied outside the classroom.

I especially enjoy working one-on-one with high school and college students in mathematics, probability and statistics, physics, and engineering. Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept, working through homework problems, preparing for an exam, or strengthening your fundamentals, I will tailor our sessions to your individual needs and pace.
