I am a History major at the University of Houston with a 3.5 GPA. My studies focus on research and writing, skills that I apply to help students move past memorization and toward better essay writing and critical thinking. I currently balance my coursework with an associateship at a small tech startup out of Florida, which helps me stay organized and practical in how I approach academic challenges. I have spent my entire academic life tutoring in one form or another, and I intend to pursue a graduate degree in Business upon my graduation this December.
For more than a decade I have worked in student and peer guidance. As an avid outdoorsman and an Eagle Scout, I spent years passing along valuable skills to the younger scouts, and as an ALL-State golfer, I've spent many summers instructing young golfers in the skills and nuances of the game.
My tutoring style is straightforward and collaborative. I prefer guiding students to find the answer themselves through questions rather than just lecturing them. Whether we are working on a history project or sharpening writing skills, my goal is to make the subject less intimidating, more interesting, and to help students feel more capable of handling their own assignments and feeling pride in their hard work.
